She Signed the Film. Then She Found Out She Was Pregnant. Lavanya Tripathi Still Finished Sathi Leelavathi
Some actors prep with workshops. Lavanya Tripathi prepped with weight loss and unknowingly, with motherhood.
The actress will next be seen in Sathi Leelavathi, directed by Tatineni Satya, opposite Malayalam actor Dev Mohan. The film’s headed for a summer release. But the real story happened between “action” and “cut.”
“When I came on board, I had no idea I was pregnant and had no symptoms,” Lavanya told Cinema Express. “Later, I realised the shoot wouldn’t be easy, and I even lost weight for the role. I don’t know where I got the energy from.”
She found out mid-shoot. No nausea, no fatigue — just a revelation that rewrote everything except her commitment. “During the filming, I found out that I was pregnant. However, with the team’s support, I managed to complete the shoot smoothly.”

The Role vs. Real Life
In Sathi Leelavathi, Lavanya plays a director navigating relationships she says “no woman would want in real life.” Ironically, her own reality was shifting into something she did want. She and husband Varun Tej welcomed their son, Vaayuv, in 2025.
“I feel lucky to have a caring husband like Varun Tej,” she shared. “I’m now happy spending time with my husband and son.”
That happiness means a pause. Lavanya confirmed she hasn’t signed new projects yet. “But going forward, if I know I’m pregnant, I will definitely take a break from shoots.” For now, family is the only call time she’s answering.
She’s Seen the Film. She’s Laughing.
Lavanya watched Sathi Leelavathi with her manager already. The verdict? “We laughed a lot. The film has turned out really well, and I’m very confident about it. Now, I’m waiting to see how the audience receives it.”
What’s Next? Maybe Varun Tej
A co-star she does want? Her husband. “I would love to share screen space with Varun Tej if we get a unique and different story,” Lavanya said. No rush, though. No scripts on the table. Just a summer release, a completed film, and a chapter of life that wrote itself.
Sathi Leelavathi marks more than Lavanya’s return to screen. It marks a shoot where the biggest twist wasn’t in the script it was in her.
