Paresh Rawal Opens Up on Working With Akshay Kumar Amid ‘Hera Pheri 3’ Tensions
In a candid conversation during an exclusive interview with NDTV, veteran actor Paresh Rawal spoke about his professional rapport with Akshay Kumar and addressed ongoing speculation surrounding the controversy linked to Hera Pheri 3.
The film, which remains one of Bollywood’s most anticipated sequels, had hit turbulence after Paresh Rawal announced his exit from Hera Pheri 3 last year. His decision reportedly led to a legal dispute involving Akshay Kumar’s production house, sparking widespread discussion among fans of the iconic franchise.
Despite the tensions, Rawal clarified that the situation never affected his professional conduct on set. Speaking about working with Akshay Kumar during their ongoing collaboration on Welcome to the Jungle, he said that things remained completely normal even when differences were being reported publicly.
“Bahut normal hai… jab mann-mutaav chal raha tha tab bhi hum log saath mein shooting kar rahe the,” Rawal explained, emphasizing that there was no disruption in their working relationship. He further added that, as professionals who have known each other for years, such disagreements did not impact their camaraderie on set.
Addressing rumours of a fallout, the actor dismissed any notion of personal conflict, stating that there was no “earthquake” or serious breakdown in relations between them. His remarks underline a longstanding bond built on mutual respect and years of collaboration in the industry.
When asked about Akshay Kumar’s personality, Paresh Rawal described him briefly as “straightforward,” highlighting the actor’s direct and transparent nature.
The Hera Pheri 3 situation, according to earlier reports, had seen creative and contractual differences, though director Priyadarshan later suggested that discussions were moving toward resolution, even if production timelines remained uncertain.
Meanwhile, the trio is now focused on their upcoming film Welcome to the Jungle, which also features Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, Mithila Palkar, and the late Asrani. Additionally, their film Bhooth Bangla is also generating buzz ahead of its release.
With his latest remarks, Paresh Rawal has once again reinforced that despite industry speculation, his professional relationships remain intact, and work continues as usual.
