New Delhi: The box office continues to sizzle as Ranveer Singh’s much-awaited Dhurandhar 2 stormed cinemas with an unprecedented opening, breaking records and exceeding expectations. Including paid previews, the action-packed sequel has earned a massive Rs 145.55 crore domestically as of March 20, 2026.
Blockbuster Opening Day
Dhurandhar 2, the sequel to Ranveer Singh’s 2025 hit Dhurandhar, recorded Rs 102.55 crore on its opening day alone. This included a whopping Rs 99.10 crore contributed by the Hindi version, while regional versions added to the total: Telugu at Rs 2.12 crore, Malayalam at Rs 0.9 crore, and Kannada at Rs 0.8 crore.
The film also made Rs 43 crore from paid previews held on March 18, despite cancellations and delays in some cities, bringing the total domestic earnings to Rs 145.55 crore. Globally, Dhurandhar 2 has amassed approximately Rs 240 crore, with Rs 165 crore collected on opening day itself.
Crushing Previous Records
The sequel has already surpassed its predecessor, Dhurandhar (2025), which opened at Rs 27 crore. It also outperformed other recent Bollywood blockbusters, including Animal (2023), which minted Rs 63 crore on opening day, and Jawan (2023), which earned Rs 65 crore.
This phenomenal performance establishes Dhurandhar 2 as a dominant force in the box office, setting a high benchmark for Hindi-language cinema.
