Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan is finally set to return home on March 17 after nearly a month-long stay at Lilavati Hospital, marking a reassuring recovery following a recent health scare.
The 90-year-old had been admitted on February 17 under the supervision of senior consultant Dr Jaleel Parkar due to age-related complications. During his treatment, doctors identified a minor brain haemorrhage, which required a diagnostic procedure to assess cerebrovascular conditions such as blockages and vascular abnormalities. A timely medical intervention was carried out successfully, and Salim Khan was briefly placed on ventilator support as a precaution.
Despite concerns surrounding his age and the nature of the condition, hospital sources confirmed that his health remained stable throughout his stay. Doctors had anticipated a gradual recovery, and in recent days, his condition showed consistent improvement.
A Steady Road to Recovery
Sources from the hospital have now confirmed that Salim Khan has recovered well enough to be discharged and will continue recuperating at home. His family, who had been closely monitoring his progress, had earlier indicated positive signs of improvement.
Throughout his hospitalisation, he was surrounded by loved ones. His sons—Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, and Sohail Khan were frequent visitors, ensuring constant support. The veteran writer also received visits from close friends and industry colleagues, including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and his long-time creative partner Javed Akhtar.
Earlier, Arbaaz Khan had reassured well-wishers that his father was on the mend and would soon return home a statement that now comes as welcome news to fans.
A Legacy That Shaped Bollywood
Beyond this recent health update, Salim Khan’s contribution to Indian cinema remains monumental. As one half of the legendary Salim-Javed duo, alongside Javed Akhtar, he helped redefine mainstream Hindi film narratives. Their storytelling gave rise to timeless classics like Sholay, Deewaar, and Don—films that continue to influence generations of filmmakers.
His return home not only marks a personal recovery but also brings relief to an industry that holds him in the highest regard. As he continues to regain strength, fans across the country are celebrating the encouraging update and wishing the legendary writer good health in the days ahead.
