Faisal Malik Reportedly to Play Kumbhkaran in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana
Actor Faisal Malik, widely recognized for his performance in the hit series Panchayat, is reportedly set to join the cast of the upcoming mythological drama Ramayana. According to reports, Malik will portray the formidable warrior Kumbhkaran in the ambitious project directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor.
Industry buzz suggests that Bobby Deol was initially considered for the role before Malik stepped in. While the makers have not officially confirmed the casting, insiders indicate that Faisal Malik has already completed the first schedule of filming. He reportedly shot key scenes with Yash, who plays Ravana in the film.
A source revealed, “He joined Yash for the introductory Kumbhkaran scene at Prime Focus studio in Mumbai, shot with an international action crew. The sequences are heavy on graphics similar to Avatar.” The insider added that Malik’s height and heavily built frame make him an ideal fit for the iconic character.
The ensemble cast of the film also reportedly includes Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, and Ravie Dubey. However, as of now, neither the filmmakers nor Faisal Malik have officially commented on the reports.
If confirmed, Malik’s entry as Kumbhkaran adds a fresh dynamic to the highly anticipated adaptation of the epic, combining high-octane action sequences, cutting-edge visual effects, and a star-studded cast aimed at bringing the legendary tale to life for contemporary audiences.
