Actor Priyanka Chopra has opened up about the steps she and husband Nick Jonas take to protect their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, while out in public. The actress revealed that their main priority is ensuring their child’s safety and privacy as she grows up.

During a recent appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat Podcast, Priyanka shared that she and Nick want Malti to have as normal a childhood as possible. She acknowledged that public curiosity around celebrity children is natural, but stressed that the couple wants their daughter to decide for herself how much she wants to be in the spotlight in the future.

Priyanka also recalled a disturbing incident that made them reconsider their security arrangements. According to the actress, a stranger once followed Malti home from school while recording her, which deeply concerned the family. The situation prompted the couple to increase security whenever they are out with their daughter.

Explaining the reason behind the decision, Priyanka said that security is mainly there to prevent people from filming Malti without permission. She noted that such situations happen more often than people might expect.

The actress further emphasised that while she willingly chose a life in the public eye, she does not want to impose the same on her daughter. Priyanka believes Malti should have the freedom to decide for herself what role fame will play in her life.

Priyanka and Nick, who tied the knot in 2018, welcomed Malti in 2022 through surrogacy. Since then, the couple has remained protective of their daughter’s privacy, often sharing only limited glimpses of her on social media while keeping her well-being their top priority.
