International singer Ed Sheeran has surprised fans with his contribution to Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King. The first official track from the film, titled Tu Mil Jaaye, features Ed alongside Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Baghchi. Ed Sheeran Reveals How Shah Rukh Khan Introduced Him to King
In his Instagram post, Ed recalled his first meeting with Shah Rukh Khan, during which the Bollywood superstar encouraged him to create a song for his upcoming film. Ed also revealed that Shah Rukh wanted the track to mark his first Bollywood song.
Over the years, the two have developed a close bond. Ed shared that during his previous visit to India, he went to Shah Rukh’s Mumbai residence, Mannat, to ask the actor to make a cameo appearance in the music video for his song Sapphire, which also featured Arijit Singh.
It was during that visit that Shah Rukh introduced Ed to music composer duo Sachin-Jigar. According to the singer, he wrote and recorded his verse for Tu Mil Jaaye that very night for King.
Ed expressed his happiness about collaborating with Arijit Singh on the track, calling the people involved some of his favourite personalities. His post has added another interesting layer to the story behind the film’s first song.
