Veteran actress Rakhee Gulzar has come out in support of Aamir Khan amid the online debate surrounding the actor’s reported third marriage to Gauri Spratt. While some social media users have questioned Aamir’s decision to marry again at the age of 60, Rakhee believes age should never be a barrier to finding happiness, companionship, and love.
The discussion began after reports emerged that Aamir Khan is set to marry his longtime partner Gauri Spratt on July 5, 2026. The news quickly became a talking point online, with many congratulating the actor while others questioned the idea of marriage later in life.
Reacting to the criticism, Rakhee Gulzar firmly dismissed the age-related remarks and argued that personal happiness should not be judged through societal expectations.
Speaking to Variety India, Rakhee said, “What is wrong with marrying at 60? Happiness in a marriage is not about age.” She pointed out that people across the world continue to find love and companionship at different stages of life. Referring to Hollywood legend Robert De Niro, she noted that he welcomed a child in his eighties and continues to enjoy a fulfilling personal life.
For Rakhee, relationships are about emotional connection rather than numbers. She also reflected on her own life, revealing that she married renowned lyricist and filmmaker Gulzar when he was nearly 40 years old, proving that there is no fixed timeline for love and commitment.
Beyond defending Aamir’s decision, Rakhee also praised the actor’s character and the mature way he has handled his personal relationships over the years. Although she admitted she has never worked with Aamir and is not closely connected to the current film industry, she described him as a sincere and respectful individual.
She particularly appreciated the fact that Aamir has maintained cordial relationships with both his former wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, even after their marriages ended.
“I love the way he has maintained his friendship with his two wives even after the marriage. It says a lot about him,” Rakhee remarked.
Aamir first introduced Gauri Spratt to the media during celebrations surrounding his 60th birthday earlier this year. At the time, the actor revealed that the two have known each other for nearly 25 years but reconnected later in life and eventually developed a romantic relationship.
Speaking about their bond, Aamir shared that they are deeply committed to each other and have built a strong relationship based on trust, understanding, and companionship.
“Gauri and I met 25 years ago, and now we are partners. We are very serious and committed to each other,” he had said.
The actor also offered a glimpse into their personal life, revealing that he sings to Gauri every day, a detail that delighted fans and highlighted the warmth of their relationship.
Gauri Spratt, who hails from Bengaluru, comes from a business family and is the daughter of salon entrepreneur Rita Spratt. Despite staying away from the spotlight for most of her life, she has recently attracted public attention following her relationship with the Bollywood superstar.
If the wedding takes place as planned, it will mark Aamir Khan’s third marriage. The actor was previously married to Reena Dutta from 1986 to 2002. The former couple share two children, actor Junaid Khan and daughter Ira Khan.
In 2005, Aamir married filmmaker Kiran Rao. Their marriage lasted for over 15 years before they announced their separation in 2021. Despite ending their marriage, the two have remained close friends and continue to co-parent their son, Azad Rao Khan.
Aamir’s ability to maintain healthy relationships with his former partners has often been praised within the industry, and Rakhee Gulzar’s latest comments reflect a similar sentiment.
As discussions continue around Aamir’s reported wedding, Rakhee’s message remains simple yet powerful: love, companionship, and happiness have no age limit. In a world where people are living longer and redefining traditional life milestones, finding a partner at 60 should be celebrated rather than questioned.
