More than a decade after Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan ended their marriage, rumours about their divorce settlement continue to circulate online. One of the most talked-about claims has been that Sussanne received ₹400 crore as alimony from the Bollywood star. Now, her sister, jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali, has firmly denied those reports, calling them completely false.
In a recent interview, Farah said she was deeply hurt every time she came across claims that Sussanne had received a massive alimony amount after her divorce from Hrithik.
“There was never ₹400 crore alimony. It upsets me when I see people spreading such lies online. My sister did not take anything,” Farah said.
She explained that she and Sussanne were raised with values that placed relationships above wealth and material possessions.
“We come from a family where our mother taught us that relationships matter more than money. Materialistic things have never been important to us,” she said.
Farah also dismissed the perception that Sussanne was motivated by money, saying her sister handled the separation with grace and dignity.
“Sussanne is not a gold-digger. She comes from a respected family and has always carried herself with elegance. Hrithik is also a wonderful person. Their marriage didn’t work out, but that doesn’t mean false stories should be created around their divorce. There was no alimony. These reports are completely incorrect,” she added.
Talking about the time when Hrithik and Sussanne announced their separation in 2014, Farah admitted that it came as a shock to many people.
“There was a lot of noise and many opinions about their personal lives. But both of them handled everything with maturity. It was an amicable separation,” she said.
Farah also revealed that she had once encouraged Sussanne to publicly deny the rumours surrounding the divorce settlement. However, Sussanne chose to stay silent.
“I asked her why she didn’t respond to all these stories. She simply said she didn’t care what people thought about her. That’s just the kind of person she is,” Farah shared.
Reflecting on Hrithik and Sussanne’s love story, Farah recalled that the couple were deeply in love when they decided to marry in 2000, even though Hrithik had just become an overnight superstar after the blockbuster success of Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai.
She revealed that while Hrithik’s parents had hoped he would wait before getting married because of his rising career, the actor was committed to his relationship with Sussanne and wanted to begin their life together without delay.
Today, despite ending their marriage over a decade ago, Hrithik and Sussanne continue to share a cordial relationship and are often seen together at family gatherings for the sake of their two sons, Hrehaan and Hridhaan.
Both have also moved on in their personal lives. Sussanne is in a relationship with actor Arslan Goni, while Hrithik is dating actress and musician Saba Azad. Interestingly, the four have often been spotted together at celebrations, vacations and family events, highlighting the mutual respect they continue to share.
Farah said she is genuinely happy to see both Hrithik and Sussanne finding happiness again.
“It’s important to be with people who make you happy. Arslan brings happiness into Sussanne’s life, and I’m equally happy for Hrithik and Saba. Life moves on, and seeing them all happy is what truly matters,” she said.
Farah’s clarification has once again sparked conversations online, putting to rest the long-standing rumours surrounding one of Bollywood’s most talked-about divorces and reminding fans that not every celebrity separation is driven by financial disputes.
