‘System’ OTT Release Date Confirmed: Sonakshi Sinha and Jyotika’s Courtroom Thriller to Premiere on May 22

Prime Video has officially announced the global premiere date for its upcoming Original courtroom thriller “System”, starring Sonakshi Sinha and Jyotika in lead roles.

The streaming platform revealed on May 6 that the film will premiere worldwide on May 22. Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and produced by Pammi Baweja, Harman Baweja, and Smitha Baliga under Baweja Studios, the film will be available exclusively on Prime Video in Hindi across India and over 240 countries and territories.

About the film

Positioned as a high-stakes courtroom drama, “System” explores themes of power, privilege, and justice, highlighting how truth often extends beyond legal verdicts. The narrative focuses on a world where social hierarchy and influence play a crucial role in shaping outcomes, forcing its characters to confront uncomfortable realities.

The story follows Neha Rajvansh, played by Sonakshi Sinha, a determined public prosecutor, who joins hands with Sarika Rawat, a courtroom stenographer portrayed by Jyotika. Despite coming from vastly different social backgrounds, the two women form an unlikely alliance to uncover hidden injustices and challenge powerful forces.

Alongside Sonakshi Sinha and Jyotika, the film features Ashutosh Gowariker in a pivotal role. The ensemble cast also includes Preeti Agarwal, Adinath Kothare, Aashriya Mishra, Gaurav Pandey, and Sayandeep Gupta.

The film is directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, known for her nuanced storytelling, and written by a team including Harman Baweja, Arun Sukumar, Tasneem Lokhandwala, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and Akshat Ghildial.

Speaking about the film, Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals at Prime Video India, described “System” as a “powerful and thrilling drama exploring ambition, justice, and ethics,” adding that the film aims to deliver compelling storytelling backed by strong performances.

Producer Harman Baweja highlighted the collaboration, calling it a “gripping legal drama that brings together two strong women from contrasting worlds bound by their idea of justice,” and emphasized the scale and authenticity achieved through the partnership with Prime Video and the director.

With its focus on courtroom tension, layered storytelling, and socially driven themes, “System” promises to be more than a legal thriller, blending drama with commentary on justice and inequality.

The film is now set to stream globally on May 22, exclusively on Prime Video.
