Bollywood superstar Salman Khan used the latest episode of Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar to raise an important concern about the growing misuse of artificial intelligence and deepfake technology. During the episode on September 27, Salman spoke about how people are using AI to create fake videos and even clone voices, warning that such content can cause serious harm.
While discussing digital safety, Salman pointed out that AI-generated videos can make it difficult for people to understand what is real and what is fake. He also revealed that he himself has been featured in AI-generated videos without his permission.
Salman explained that someone could take a person’s voice, use AI to manipulate it and make them appear to say something offensive. He said, “Kisi ne aapki AI voice leke dub karke kisi ko gali bakdi. You know what they’re doing? AI videos bana rahe hai yeh. Bohot saare logon ke and even I am there in AI video.”
He further explained that the biggest problem is that many people may not realise that a video is fake. They could see an AI-generated video of a celebrity and believe that the person was actually present at the place shown in the clip.
“Chalo some people jinko pata nahi ke yeh AI hai, vo post kar denge yeh Salman Khan wahaan par tha,” Salman said, highlighting how easily misinformation can spread online.
However, Salman directed his strongest criticism towards those who knowingly create such fake videos. According to him, people who deliberately use AI to impersonate others or create misleading content should face serious consequences.
He called for strict action against those behind such content and said that merely discussing the problem will not be enough. Salman stressed that unless there are real consequences for people who misuse the technology, the problem is unlikely to stop.
“Now those kind of people should be put behind bars. Jab tak koi ek ad, do aisa andar jaayega nahi na, tab tak yeh rukne wala hai nahi,” he said.
Salman’s comments have brought the issue of AI deepfakes into the spotlight once again. With celebrities increasingly becoming targets of digitally manipulated videos, the actor’s message focused on the need for greater awareness, responsible use of technology and stronger action against deliberate misuse of AI.
