Recalling the experience, he said that the jail cells were overcrowded, with around 60 to 70 inmates confined to a very small space. During an interview in 2008, he had admitted that the most difficult part of being in jail was dealing with the bathroom facilities. He had said that apart from that, he remained calm throughout the experience because he believed he had done nothing wrong.

Earlier in the show, Sohail had moved both contestants and viewers after revealing that he had been sexually harassed as a child.
