Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar and several other dignitaries and members of the film fraternity were also present at the ceremony.

While accepting the recognition, Rani spoke about the kind of work she has chosen throughout her career. She said she has “silently worked to represent the powerful women” through her performances, making the honour even more meaningful.

But the Raj Kapoor award was only one of several major recognitions Rani received in 2026.
