The controversy surrounding Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy has taken a dramatic new turn. After veteran actor Govind Namdev publicly distanced himself from the film and claimed he felt “used” by its makers, producer Amit Jani has now hit back with a legal notice demanding a public apology and a compensation amount of ₹50 lakh.

The film, which has already sparked legal and public debate due to its alleged resemblance to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case linked to Salman Khan, is now facing trouble from within its own team.

Amit Jani Responds To Govind Namdev’s Remarks

A few days ago, Govind Namdev expressed shock after watching the teaser of Kala Hiran. The veteran actor claimed that the project shown in the teaser was completely different from the film he had agreed to be a part of.

Reacting strongly to those statements, producer Amit Jani announced that a legal notice had been issued to Namdev.

Taking to social media platform X, Jani stated that the actor had been asked to issue a public apology within seven days and pay ₹50 lakh as damages to the production house. He further warned that legal action would follow if the demands were not met.

Jani also alleged that Namdev was fully aware of the project and had not only signed Kala Hiran but had also agreed to appear in the film’s sequel.

Why Govind Namdev Objected To The Film

Speaking to Amar Ujala, Govind Namdev revealed that he was deeply disturbed after watching the teaser.

According to the actor, the project was originally introduced to him under the title Sambhal, and he was never informed that it would eventually be linked to a character resembling Salman Khan.

“As soon as I watched the trailer, I was shaken,” Namdev said. He claimed that the film shown in the teaser was vastly different from what he had originally shot.

The actor further stated that his role was limited to courtroom sequences and that he was told the film would simply present legal proceedings that were already part of the public record.

“I was informed that there was a long courtroom sequence and that was all I had to do. I believed there was nothing wrong in presenting facts that were already on record,” he explained.

However, after watching the teaser, Namdev said he felt he had been kept in the dark about the film’s actual direction.

The controversy surrounding Kala Hiran extends beyond the disagreement between the producer and actor.

Salman Khan has already approached the Delhi High Court seeking a stay on the film’s release and promotions. The actor has argued that the project appears to be based on allegations connected to him and violates an earlier court order that protects his personality rights.

Although the film does not directly mention Salman Khan by name, many viewers have pointed out similarities between the teaser’s character Ayaan Khan and the Bollywood superstar.

The matter is currently before the court, with the next hearing scheduled for June 19.

A Film Surrounded By Debate

Since its announcement, Kala Hiran has remained one of the most controversial upcoming films in recent times. The project is believed to draw inspiration from the blackbuck poaching case that has followed Salman Khan for decades, while also reportedly touching upon the alleged tensions involving gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Now, with Salman Khan’s legal challenge underway and Govind Namdev publicly questioning the film’s content, the controversy appears far from over.

As the legal battle intensifies, the future of Kala Hiran will likely depend not only on the courts but also on how the filmmakers respond to the growing criticism surrounding the project.
