Veteran actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty was recently admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata, where he underwent a surgical procedure. According to sources at the medical establishment, the procedure was successfully completed and the actor is currently in a stable condition.
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari visited Mithun at the hospital on Friday morning and enquired about his health. The Chief Minister later shared a message wishing the veteran actor a speedy recovery.
Mithun reportedly underwent the procedure on Thursday to have a metal plate removed, which had been implanted following an earlier incident. The surgery was described as successful, with the actor’s condition said to be stable.
This is not the first time Mithun has required hospital treatment in recent years. In 2024, the actor had undergone orthopaedic surgery on his hand, after which he received a visit from the Chief Minister.
Despite health setbacks, Mithun has remained active both professionally and politically. The veteran star, who has been associated with the BJP in West Bengal, was actively involved in campaigning for the party during the 2026 Assembly elections.
