The couple got married on September 11, 2006, in Chennai after dating for several years. Their relationship also faced challenges before marriage, with reports stating that Suriya’s father, veteran actor Sivakumar, initially had reservations about their relationship. However, Suriya remained firm about his decision to marry Jyotika.

The couple went on to build a family together. Their daughter Diya was born in 2006, while their son Dev was born in 2010.

Over the years, Suriya and Jyotika have continued to support each other through their personal and professional journeys. Both have remained successful actors while also maintaining a strong family bond away from the constant spotlight.
