Step Inside Lyari: How Rupin Suchak Brought Dhurandhar 2 to Life

The high-octane world of Dhurandhar: The Revenge isn’t just defined by its gripping story or star-studded cast; the meticulous attention to detail in its sets has also been widely praised. Popular production designer and interior architect Rupin Suchak recently gave fans a glimpse into the immersive world he helped create for the film.
Building Lyari From Scratch
Collaborating with primary production designer Saini S Johray, Suchak played a key role in designing the film’s intricate environments. The most applauded achievement was a sprawling 6-acre set in Bangkok, which was transformed into Pakistan’s Lyari Town for one of the film’s most crucial action sequences.
Sharing a behind-the-scenes look on Instagram, Suchak wrote:
“Before a story can unfold, it must first exist in space. What you see here is not decoration, but intention. A world constructed to hold silence, tension and consequence. Dhurandhar – The Revenge!”
The post highlights the deliberate thought that went into every corner of the set, creating a space that feels both authentic and cinematic, enhancing the narrative rather than merely serving as a backdrop.

Star-Studded Screening in Mumbai
Ahead of its release on March 19, the makers hosted a special screening on March 18 in Mumbai, bringing together the cast, crew, and industry insiders. Actress Saumya Tandon, who plays Rehman Dakait’s wife, shared cheerful glimpses from the event, including a selfie with Ranveer Singh and moments with director Aditya Dhar and actress Yami Gautam.
The event also featured the cast enjoying candid moments with casting director Mukesh Chhabra, young actress Sara Arjun, and television personalities Krystle D’Souza and Ayesha Khan. Saumya revealed a playful interaction where Ranveer fondly dubbed her the “slapping queen.”
Comedian and actor Gaurav Gera, who portrays Mohammad Alam in the film, also shared behind-the-scenes selfies with the team, giving fans an intimate look at the celebrations.
About the Film
Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge continues the story of Ranveer Singh’s character, Hamza Ali Mazari, who rises to become Sher-e-Baloch and the undisputed king of Lyari. The sequel traces his transformation from Jaskirat Singh Rangi to an undercover spy avenging terrorist attacks in Pakistan.
The spy-action thriller brings back a talented supporting cast, including Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, and Sara Arjun.
By blending stellar performances with detailed set design, the filmmakers have crafted a world that is as immersive as it is thrilling, transporting audiences straight into the streets of Lyari while keeping the story’s tension and emotion palpable.
