Akshay Kumar on Golmaal 5: “I Have No Insecurity About Ajay Devgn Being the Main Hero”
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has opened up about his role in the upcoming comedy Golmaal 5, clarifying that he feels no insecurity about his co-star Ajay Devgn being billed as the film’s main hero. In a recent interview with News18, Akshay expressed his happiness at being part of the project, emphasizing that his focus is on the story and the overall impact of the film rather than his screen time.
“I’m happy that they think I was good enough to be a part of Golmaal. Ajay is the main hero. I’m not playing the main part. But what’s wrong with it?” Akshay said. He added that for him, the film’s objective and narrative are far more important than any individual role. “If I like the story, I’ll do it,” he explained.
When asked directly about the hierarchy on set, Akshay confidently stated, “Mera role badhiya hai Golmaal mein but Ajay’s the hero. I’ve no insecurity. Uski koi zaroorat nahi hai.” His remarks highlight his professional approach and willingness to contribute to a project without focusing on billing or prominence.
Akshay also shared insights into how he selects his roles, noting that he is constantly approached with scripts and ideas. “I see fresh scripts and ideas coming to me all the time. Main yeh dekhna chahta hoon ki main kya alag kar sakta hoon, kaise kar sakta hoon,” he said. He emphasized that he carefully chooses from a handful of scripts that resonate with him while other projects are offered to fellow actors.
With his candid approach, Akshay Kumar continues to demonstrate a commitment to meaningful storytelling and team collaboration, showing that even in a franchise with multiple big stars, his priority remains the quality of the film rather than individual prominence.
