Sunita Ahuja has once again made headlines with her candid remarks about her marriage to Bollywood star Govinda. During a conversation on Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, Sunita spoke openly about dealing with rumours of infidelity and shared how she has chosen to focus on her family instead of dwelling on the past.
In the latest episode, Sunita was seen chatting with fellow contestant Shreya Kalra, who asked her about a previous interview in which she had hinted at feeling hurt by allegations of cheating in her marriage.
Responding honestly, Sunita said that even if such things happened, there was little she could do now.
“If it happened, what can I do now? It has been there from the beginning, hasn’t it? He is a hero, so you can’t say anything. At this age, if I keep thinking about all this, my diabetes will only get worse. I just let life go on,” she said.
When Shreya asked whether those thoughts still made her sad, Sunita admitted that she has chosen to put her children first.
“I live for my kids,” she said simply.
Asked if she believed she could stop someone from being unfaithful, Sunita replied that no one can control another person’s actions.
“Can you stop anyone? Should I sit in front of him 24 hours a day? The other person would get irritated too. I don’t think about these things anymore,” she said.
Sunita also revealed that she and Govinda maintain separate living spaces, explaining that it helps them preserve their privacy.
“We have two houses. Many people come to meet him at his house. I like my privacy in mine,” she shared.
Despite the speculation that has surrounded their marriage over the years, Sunita made it clear that she has no interest in looking for love elsewhere.
“I’ve seen enough in life already,” she said, suggesting that she has accepted her circumstances and chosen peace over conflict.
A marriage that has weathered many storms
Govinda and Sunita Ahuja have been married since 1987 and are parents to two children, Tina Ahuja and Yashvardan Ahuja. Over the years, the couple’s relationship has often been the subject of media attention.
Throughout Govinda’s career, he has been linked with several actresses. His friendship with actress Neelam sparked rumours in the late 1980s and early 1990s, while more recent speculation connected him to a younger Marathi actress. Sunita herself has made candid remarks in the past, sometimes acknowledging that rumours of infidelity had caused her emotional pain.
Last year, Govinda made headlines after accidentally suffering a gunshot injury to his leg and being admitted to hospital. Soon after, rumours of a possible divorce between the couple began circulating. However, Govinda and Sunita later appeared together during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, putting those rumours to rest.
Now, through her emotional conversation on Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, Sunita has once again offered a glimpse into the realities of her long marriage. Her honest remarks about love, acceptance and family have sparked fresh conversations among viewers, with many praising her for speaking openly about such a deeply personal subject.
