Actor Gauahar Khan has strongly criticised Nikhil Chinapa over his recent remarks about menopause, calling his comments “ignorant” and “disgusting.” The controversy comes amid the ongoing drama surrounding the reality show Alliance, where Gauahar has been openly supporting her husband Zaid Darbar, a contestant on the show.

The disagreement began after Gauahar criticised Nikhil and fellow contestant Mini Mathur, accusing them of being unfair towards Zaid and other contestants. She claimed the duo was not giving everyone an equal chance in the game and was biased in their decisions.

After his eviction from the show, Nikhil was asked about Gauahar’s criticism during an interview. Responding to the question, he remarked that Mini might have better insight because she “deals a lot with menopause and perimenopause,” suggesting she could explain Gauahar’s opinions.

The comment did not sit well with Gauahar. In a series of Instagram videos, she expressed disappointment and said it was shocking to hear such remarks from someone with years of life experience. She said reducing a woman’s opinion to menopause or hormonal changes reflects a lack of understanding about women’s health.

Gauahar explained that her criticism was directed only at Nikhil’s gameplay and not at him personally. She even acknowledged that she has always respected him for his work and personality. However, she questioned why her views were being linked to menopause or perimenopause instead of being addressed on their own merit.

She also pointed out that she gave birth to her child just nine months ago, making Nikhil’s assumption factually incorrect. Gauahar urged him to be more sensitive while speaking about women’s health and stressed that menopause is a natural phase of life that should never be used to dismiss or undermine a woman’s opinions.

Addressing women who are experiencing menopause or perimenopause, Gauahar said no one should make them feel that their thoughts or perspectives are less valid because of biological changes. She added that Nikhil owed an apology not only to her but also to the women in his life for making such an insensitive remark.

The controversy has sparked conversations on social media about the importance of discussing women’s health responsibly and avoiding stereotypes that associate a woman’s opinions or emotions with hormonal changes.

Meanwhile, Alliance continues to witness major twists. Kushal Tandon has become the new Ace of the house, contestants have been divided into new teams, and Seema Sajdeh was recently eliminated after failing to secure a place in any group. The reality show is currently streaming on Prime Video.
