The ongoing movement against alleged examination irregularities and paper leaks has received support from another prominent educational institution. The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Students’ Association (FSA) has announced its solidarity with activist Sonam Wangchuk and the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), backing their demand for a fair and transparent examination system.
On Monday, students at the FTII campus held a peaceful demonstration in support of the CJP’s ‘Sansad Chalo’ march, joining the growing nationwide call for accountability in the education system.
Students Demand Fair Examinations
In an official statement, the FTII Students’ Association said it stands with students across the country who are demanding action over alleged paper leaks and examination irregularities.
The association also criticised the alleged use of force against peaceful protesters and urged the government to engage in meaningful dialogue with students instead of ignoring their concerns.
According to the students’ body, a fair and transparent examination process is essential for protecting the future of young aspirants.
FTII Entrance Exam Leak Also Raised
The association revealed that the FTII entrance examination paper had also reportedly been leaked in recent months, forcing authorities to conduct the examination again.
Student representatives said the issue is not limited to one institution or one examination but has become a nationwide concern affecting thousands of students.
They stressed that educational institutions must maintain credibility and fairness, adding that paper leaks damage the trust of students who prepare for competitive examinations through years of hard work.
The students also appealed to the Central Government to open discussions with protesters instead of responding with force.
CJP Protest Continues
The support from FTII comes as the Cockroach Janta Party’s movement continues to gain attention across the country.
On Monday, a delegation of the CJP met Union Health Minister JP Nadda to discuss the group’s demands, including accountability over alleged examination irregularities and reforms in the education system. The minister reportedly appealed to protesters to end their agitation.
Meanwhile, activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike in support of the movement, remains admitted to Safdarjung Hospital after his health deteriorated during the protest. Despite his hospitalisation, Wangchuk has maintained his decision to continue the fast.
As more educational institutions and public figures express support for the movement, the debate over examination transparency and education reforms continues to grow, keeping the issue firmly in the national spotlight.
