The tragic death of television actor Sanchita Ugale has left her family, friends and the entertainment industry searching for answers. Days after the young actor was found dead at her residence in Nalasopara, her cousin brother Akash Satish Ugale has made serious allegations, claiming that Sanchita was under immense mental stress and was allegedly being harassed by people connected to the casting industry.
Speaking to the media, Akash drew a comparison between Sanchita’s death and the death of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14, 2020. According to Akash, both incidents highlight the pressures and challenges faced by actors trying to establish themselves in the entertainment world.
He alleged that the industry often creates an environment of fear and pressure, especially for actors coming from middle-class families. Akash claimed that talented newcomers are sometimes sidelined and forced to struggle against powerful people within the system. Referring to Sushant Singh Rajput’s case, he said that immense pressure can leave individuals emotionally exhausted and vulnerable.

Akash further revealed that he had spoken to some of Sanchita’s close friends after her death and learned that she had allegedly been facing mental harassment. According to him, certain individuals from the casting circuit were troubling her, which had left her deeply upset in recent months. He believes these issues may have contributed to her emotional distress and has urged authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly.
Adding another twist to the case, Akash claimed that Sanchita maintained a separate Instagram account that was not known to many people. He alleged that a reel related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death was uploaded from the account around the time of the incident. He said the profile used Sanchita’s photograph and requested police to examine the account as part of their investigation. However, these claims have not been officially verified by authorities.
Sanchita Ugale, known for her performances in popular television shows such as Kumkum Bhagya and Wagle Ki Duniya, was found dead on June 14 at her residence in Sai Santoshi Building in Achole village, Nalasopara East. According to police officials, she was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her bedroom. Family members rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Based on a complaint filed by her father, Machhindra Ugale, Achole Police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and launched an investigation. Officials have stated that all possible angles are being examined to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
Following the shocking incident, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) demanded a high-level inquiry into the case. The organisation appealed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to ensure a fair investigation and justice for the actor’s family. AICWA also claimed that Sanchita was 26 years old, contrary to several reports that mentioned her age as 22.
Sanchita had steadily built a promising career in television. She became a familiar face through her role as Diya Tandon in Kumkum Bhagya and later impressed audiences in Wagle Ki Duniya and Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi. Her sudden death has once again sparked conversations about mental health, workplace pressure and the challenges faced by young actors in the entertainment industry.
As the investigation continues, Sanchita’s family hopes the truth behind her death will emerge, while her fans and colleagues remember a talented young actor whose life ended far too soon.
