The singer, who had officially declared on January 27 that he would no longer take on new playback assignments, reached out to Balaji Motion Pictures and composer Pritam expressing his desire to sing a track for the film. According to sources, Arijit felt an immediate connection to the romantic number, Tu Hi Disda, and was convinced he could bring the emotional depth the song required.
The track features Akshay Kumar and Wamiqa Gabbi, and marks one of the most anticipated musical collaborations of 2026. Akshay Kumar himself shared his excitement about working with the legendary singer, writing on X:

On January 27, Arijit Singh announced he would no longer accept new playback assignments. He wrote:
“Hello, Happy new year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey.”
His voice has been an inseparable part of modern Hindi cinema, lending magic to songs like Tum Hi Ho (Aashiqui 2), Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (Ranbir Kapoor), Kesariya (Brahmastra), Agar Tum Saath Ho (Tamasha), and Gerua (Dilwale).
