Competing in the women’s 48kg weightlifting category, Mirabai delivered a record-breaking performance with a combined lift of 190kg. She lifted 85kg in the snatch and 105kg in the clean and jerk, setting a new Commonwealth Games record.

Her journey to the gold was not easy. To meet the strict weight requirements before the competition, Mirabai revealed that she had to go without food for nearly two days. Despite the physical challenge, she stayed focused and produced a champion’s performance to secure another historic gold for India.
