Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has once again found herself at the centre of a social media debate. After facing criticism for her remarks on Gen Z protesters, the actor responded to trolls who were sharing clips and pictures from her films to question her views.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Kangana argued that her on-screen characters should not be confused with real life, saying that the roles she portrays are part of her profession as an actor and should not be used to influence young people.
‘My Film Roles Are Part of My Job’
In her post, Kangana explained that she is paid to play different characters in films and that those performances are designed for entertainment, not as examples for everyday life.
She said that scenes from movies, glamorous public appearances and high-profile events cannot be compared with how people should behave in schools, on the streets or in everyday situations.
Kangana also urged people not to use her film clips to send the wrong message to teenagers, writing that misleading young minds today could have consequences for future generations.
Responds to Social Media Criticism
The latest statement comes after several social media users shared images and videos of Kangana’s bold film characters following her criticism of Gen Z protesters.
Many online users questioned how the actor could speak about culture and values while having portrayed modern and unconventional roles in several films throughout her career.
Responding to those comparisons, Kangana maintained that acting is a profession and that an actor’s characters should not be treated as reflections of their personal beliefs or lifestyle.

The controversy began after Kangana criticised a section of Gen Z protesters participating in recent demonstrations. She described some of their videos as “puke-inducing” and claimed they reflected a decline in cultural values and public behaviour.
