Television producer and Balaji Telefilms Joint Managing Director Ekta Kapoor has leased out a floor of her Mumbai property in Juhu for a monthly rent of ₹1.5 lakh under a two-year leave-and-licence agreement.

According to property registration documents, the rented unit is located in Ekta House, a four-storey residential building in the upscale Juhu locality. The agreement, which was officially registered on July 28, 2026, is valid from March 1, 2025, to February 28, 2027.

As part of the deal, the tenant will pay a monthly licence fee of ₹1.5 lakh and has reportedly provided post-dated cheques covering the entire lease period. The rented floor also comes with one dedicated car parking space.

This is not the first time Ekta Kapoor has earned rental income from the same property. In 2021, she leased another floor of the building for a monthly rent of ₹2.7 lakh under a 24-month agreement. That earlier deal reportedly included a ₹10 lakh security deposit and a one-year lock-in period, reflecting the strong demand for premium residential properties in Mumbai’s Juhu area.

Apart from being one of India’s most successful television producers, Ekta Kapoor has also been associated with several major real estate transactions through her family.

Over the past few years, the Kapoor family has made headlines for several high-value property deals. In 2025, Ekta Kapoor and her father, veteran actor Jeetendra, sold a luxury apartment in Mumbai’s Worli for ₹12.25 crore. The apartment measured over 2,100 square feet and included two parking spaces.

The same year, the Kapoor family also completed one of Bollywood’s biggest property transactions by selling a 2.39-acre land parcel in Andheri for an estimated ₹855 crore. The land housed the Balaji IT Park and was acquired by a leading data centre company, making it one of the largest celebrity real estate deals of the year.

Even before these transactions, Ekta Kapoor and her mother, Shobha Kapoor, had sold a property in Pune through family-owned companies as part of their growing real estate portfolio.

Jeetendra himself has often spoken about his smart property investments over the decades. One of his most famous purchases was a bungalow in Mumbai’s Pali Hill, which he reportedly bought years ago for just ₹4.25 lakh. Today, the property’s estimated market value runs into hundreds of crores, highlighting the remarkable appreciation of Mumbai’s real estate market.

While Ekta Kapoor continues to dominate Indian television and digital entertainment through Balaji Telefilms, her latest rental agreement once again reflects the Kapoor family’s strong presence not only in the entertainment industry but also in Mumbai’s booming real estate sector.
