A Grand Mythological Adventure

Varanasi is one of the most ambitious Indian films ever mounted. Set after a catastrophic asteroid strike that changes life on Earth, the story follows Rudhra, played by Mahesh Babu, a devotee of Lord Shiva who embarks on a dangerous mission to recover a powerful cosmic artefact.

Priyanka Chopra reportedly plays Mandakini, a key character who helps Rudhra navigate different timelines and uncover ancient mysteries. Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the primary antagonist, Kumbha.

Mounted on a reported budget of ₹1,200–1,400 crore, Varanasi is expected to be one of the costliest Indian films ever made. The film is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on April 7, 2027, and has already generated massive excitement among cinema lovers.

With shooting in full swing and stars enjoying moments together off-camera, anticipation for SS Rajamouli’s next cinematic spectacle continues to grow.
