Bollywood actor and filmmaker Sohail Khan made a deeply personal revelation on the latest episode of the reality show Alliance, opening up about experiencing sexual harassment during his childhood. The actor said he kept the incident to himself for years before finally sharing it with his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, as an adult.
During a conversation with fellow contestants Arslan Goni, Aly Goni and Ruhee Dosani, Sohail explained why he strongly opposes bullying and ragging. He said his own experience taught him the importance of encouraging children to speak up about any form of abuse.
Recalling the incident, Sohail said he remained silent because he felt embarrassed and ashamed, even though he knew he had done nothing wrong.
“I was sexually harassed by somebody when I was young and I kept that within me for years. When I grew up and became an adult, I confided in my father. I told him, ‘Daddy, this happened to me.’ He said, ‘Beta, tune itne saalon tak apne andar rakha isse.’ I said, ‘I am so sorry, but I was so embarrassed to say it.’ I was not at fault, but I felt ashamed.”
Sohail shared that the experience changed the way he parents his own children. He said he repeatedly tells them never to hide anything from him, especially if someone bullies or mistreats them.
According to the actor, children should always feel safe discussing difficult experiences with their parents without fear of being judged.
The emotional conversation came during an episode that also saw Sohail speak about missing his family while staying inside the Alliance house. He admitted that participating as a contestant has given him a completely different perspective on reality shows, despite having hosted and judged similar formats in the past.
Recently, the show also reunited Sohail with his former wife, Seema Sajdeh, who entered Alliance as a wildcard contestant. Their respectful interactions have been appreciated by viewers, with many praising the maturity they continue to display while co-parenting their children.
