Television actor Rohit Chandel has been arrested by the Mumbai Police after a 16-year-old girl allegedly accused him of stalking, harassment, and physical assault. The actor was taken into custody following a complaint filed by the minor, with police now investigating the allegations.
According to reports, the complaint states that the actor allegedly contacted the teenager repeatedly through multiple phone numbers before an incident that reportedly took place near her residential building on July 5. The girl has alleged that Rohit confronted her at the location and physically assaulted her.
Following the complaint, Mumbai Police arrested the 29-year-old actor from his residence in Dahisar on July 10. He has been booked under serious charges, including provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, along with Section 78 (stalking) and Section 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
A special court has sent Rohit Chandel to police custody as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities are examining the allegations, collecting evidence, and recording statements related to the case.
