Former Shapoor Zadran passed away on Tuesday in India after battling a prolonged illness. He was 38 and died just a day before his 39th birthday, leaving the cricketing world in mourning.
According to reports, Zadran had been undergoing treatment at a hospital in Greater Noida after being diagnosed with Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), a rare and serious disorder that affects the body’s immune system. Despite receiving medical care, he succumbed to the illness.
Shapoor Zadran was one of the pioneers of Afghanistan cricket and played a key role during the team’s rise on the international stage. A left-arm fast bowler, he was known for his pace, aggression, and ability to deliver crucial breakthroughs in important matches.
