Samantha Ruth Prabhu and filmmaker-producer Raj Nidimoru recently grabbed attention during the pre-release event of their upcoming film Maa Inti Bangaaram in Hyderabad. While the event was meant to celebrate the film, one light-hearted moment between the couple quickly became the highlight of the evening.
As Raj took the stage alongside the cast and crew, enthusiastic fans began cheering loudly from the audience. Soon, the crowd started urging him to publicly tell Samantha that he loved her. The playful demand created a cheerful atmosphere, with host Suma Kanakala joining in and teasing Raj about it.
However, Raj chose not to give the audience the response they were hoping for. Smiling, he replied, “A lot of people have already told her that on stage. They’re screaming it from there too. So, it’s nothing new.”
His witty response immediately drew laughter from the audience and showcased the filmmaker’s calm and reserved personality. Instead of making a romantic declaration, Raj decided to praise Samantha’s work as an actress.
Speaking about his experience working with her on Maa Inti Bangaaram, Raj revealed how impressed he was by her performance during filming. He explained that Samantha often surprised the team by delivering emotionally complex scenes perfectly in the very first take.
“I realised while shooting Bangaram that if we wrote the scenes in a certain way, Samantha would suddenly burst out and do it in the first take. That’s when I realised what an incredible actor she is,” he said.
Raj further added that every new scene brought out a different side of Samantha’s talent. According to him, she constantly challenges expectations and continues to evolve as a performer.
“Every time we test her with a new scene or a new edge, she shows something else that I haven’t seen before. It’s very exciting to work with an actress like that,” he shared before jokingly telling Samantha, “I’m treating you like an actor right now. I’m talking to you like an actor.”
The moment reflected the couple’s comfort and mutual respect for each other. Rather than indulging in a public display of affection, Raj chose to celebrate Samantha’s dedication and talent, something that appeared to impress fans just as much.
The event comes months after Samantha and Raj tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Coimbatore on December 1. The couple had been the subject of relationship rumours for quite some time before officially confirming their marriage.
Professionally, the two have shared a successful creative partnership. They previously worked together on the acclaimed web series The Family Man 2, which earned Samantha widespread praise for her powerful performance.
Now, they are collaborating once again on Maa Inti Bangaaram, a family action-comedy directed by Nandini Reddy. The film marks Samantha’s reunion with the director after their successful 2019 film Oh! Baby. Raj Nidimoru has also contributed to the screenplay alongside writer Vasanth Maringanti.
The film features an ensemble cast including Gulshan Devaiah, Diganth Manchale, Gautami Tadimalla, Sreemukhi, Manjusha and Srinivas Gavireddy.
While fans may have hoped for a romantic confession on stage, Raj’s heartfelt appreciation of Samantha’s talent ultimately stole the show, proving that admiration can sometimes speak louder than the words “I love you.”
