Akshay Kumar recently won hearts at the Welcome To The Jungle trailer launch when he revealed that his emotional “We miss you, Katrina” remark was completely spontaneous and not part of the script.

During the event, the actor was asked whether the now-viral line had been written in advance or if he had improvised it on the spot. Akshay made it clear that the words came from genuine emotion and were not planned by the filmmakers.

Responding with his trademark honesty and humour, Akshay said, “No, no, the feeling was always there. It didn’t suddenly arise at that moment. That’s why I said it. It wasn’t in the script. Do you really think Neeraj Vora or Firoz would have written something like that? No one can write that. It came from here,” he said, pointing towards his heart.

His candid response quickly caught the attention of fans, many of whom appreciated the warmth and affection behind the comment.

Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar have shared one of Bollywood’s most successful on-screen partnerships, delivering blockbuster films like Namastey London, Singh Is Kinng, Welcome, De Dana Dan, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye and Sooryavanshi. Their chemistry has remained a fan favourite over the years.

The actor’s remark also reflected the nostalgia associated with the Welcome franchise. Katrina played a key role in the first Welcome film, and her absence from the latest instalment has been noticed by many fans.

Akshay’s heartfelt comment reminded audiences of the bond they shared on screen and the memories attached to their films together.

Meanwhile, Welcome To The Jungle promises to take the popular comedy franchise in a new direction with a massive ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Johny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda and several others.

Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film is set to hit theatres on June 26, 2026.

While the trailer was packed with comedy and chaos, it was Akshay Kumar’s simple and emotional “We miss you, Katrina” confession that ended up becoming one of the most talked-about moments from the event.
