Veteran actor Ravi Kishan has opened up about his experience of working with Bollywood icon Madhuri Dixit for the first time in the upcoming Netflix film Maa Behen. While the actor was initially nervous about sharing screen space with one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated stars, he says it was Madhuri’s humility and calm nature that left the biggest impression on him.
In a recent interview, Ravi revealed that he had admired Madhuri for years and was unsure how he would perform opposite her when filming began.
“I kept wondering how I would deliver my scenes and match her presence on screen,” he admitted. Before Maa Behen, Ravi’s interaction with Madhuri had been limited to brief encounters at industry events.
The actor shared that the film features some emotionally intense scenes between the two performers, unlike anything he has done before. He also hinted that audiences will get to witness a completely different side of Madhuri in the dark comedy.
According to Ravi, the role showcases a version of Madhuri that fans have never seen on screen. He praised her ability to bring unique quirks, expressions, and depth to her character, creating what he described as a “magical aura.”
However, it wasn’t just her acting talent that impressed him.
Ravi spoke at length about Madhuri’s calm and positive attitude on set, saying he has never seen her lose her composure despite challenging situations. Whether it was unexpected delays, bad weather, technical issues, or changes in schedules, she always remained cheerful and patient.
The actor recalled that even when filming was delayed or when rehearsals did not go exactly as planned, Madhuri would simply smile and carry on without any complaints.
“I have never seen her throw tantrums. Rain, mud, delays nothing seems to bother her. She remains peaceful and happy no matter what is happening around her,” Ravi said.
He further explained that he spent a lot of time observing her during the shoot and was fascinated by her ability to remain calm amid chaos.
According to Ravi, Madhuri has created a peaceful world around herself and chooses to focus on positivity regardless of the circumstances. Even when stressful situations arise, she handles them with grace and a smile.
The actor also recalled witnessing Madhuri’s immense popularity during a visit to his constituency, Gorakhpur, where she attended an event as a brand ambassador. Ravi said the city virtually came to a standstill as thousands of people gathered just to catch a glimpse of the actress.
“People were climbing walls and trees to see her. The excitement was unbelievable,” he recalled.
Despite the overwhelming crowd and attention, Ravi said Madhuri remained completely relaxed and unbothered, once again displaying the same calm demeanor he had witnessed on set.
When Ravi showered her with compliments, Madhuri responded with laughter, calling his praise sweet and amusing.
Directed by Suresh Triveni, Maa Behen is a dark comedy that revolves around a mother-daughter duo played by Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri. Their lives take an unexpected turn when a mysterious dead body appears inside their home, setting off a chain of chaotic events.
The film also stars Ravi Kishan and Dharna Durga in important roles and promises to showcase its lead actors in refreshing and unconventional avatars. Set to premiere on Netflix on June 4, Maa Behen has already generated excitement among fans eager to see Madhuri Dixit in a role unlike any she has played before.
