A fresh controversy has emerged involving Bollywood superstar Salman Khan after his legal team sent a notice to the makers of the upcoming film Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy. The film is reportedly inspired by the actor’s long-running blackbuck hunting case, which remains under judicial consideration.
According to reports, Salman Khan’s legal team issued a notice to casting director Akshay Pandey on April 24, 2026, demanding an immediate halt to the development, production, and promotion of the film. The movie is being directed by Bharat Srinate and produced by Amit Jani.
The notice claims that the project could interfere with ongoing legal proceedings related to the blackbuck case, which is currently pending before the Rajasthan High Court. Salman Khan’s lawyers have argued that any dramatized or sensationalized portrayal of the matter could influence public opinion and potentially affect the actor’s right to a fair trial.
In addition, the legal notice alleges that the film violates Salman Khan’s personality and publicity rights. According to the actor’s legal representatives, neither his name, image, nor any events associated with him have been authorized for use in the project.
