Tabu Joins Nagarjuna Akkineni’s Landmark 100th Film ‘King 100’, Reuniting After Nearly Three Decades
Veteran Telugu cinema star Nagarjuna Akkineni is gearing up for a major milestone in his career with his 100th film, currently referred to as King 100. The project has already started filming and is generating strong buzz, especially after the announcement that acclaimed actor Tabu has joined the cast.
Tabu recently confirmed her participation by sharing a photograph from the film’s set on Instagram. The image featured the film’s clapboard placed on a black leather chair, marking the official beginning of her shoot. Alongside the picture, she wrote, “And we begin with the #King100 #Nagarjuna @annapurnastudios,” signaling her excitement about the project.

A Long-Awaited Reunion
This film marks a significant on-screen reunion for Nagarjuna and Tabu after almost 30 years. The duo last appeared together in the 1998 Telugu film Aavida Maa Aavide. Before that, they shared screen space in the 1996 blockbuster Ninne Pelladata, both of which remain memorable collaborations in Telugu cinema.
Speaking about their long-standing association, Nagarjuna shared in an interview that he has known Tabu since the early days of her career. He also revealed that when she learned about his 100th film milestone, she expressed a strong desire to be part of it.
About the Film
The project is being directed by filmmaker Naveen (Ra) Karthik, known for his work on Made in Korea. While the film is currently being referred to as King 100, reports suggest that its official title may eventually be Asurudu. The makers are also planning a multilingual release to reach a wider audience.
With its milestone significance and the reunion of two celebrated actors, King 100 has already become one of the most anticipated projects in Telugu cinema.
