Neha Dhupia Reveals She Worked Till 8.5 Months Pregnant, Says She Experienced Contractions on Set

Actor Neha Dhupia has opened up about her experience of working through the late stages of pregnancy, revealing that she continued shooting until she was eight and a half months pregnant—even as she went into early labour contractions on set.

She shared the revelation during a conversation with actor Parineeti Chopra on the talk show Mom Talks, where the two discussed motherhood, career choices, and societal expectations placed on women after becoming mothers.

A promo released on Wednesday shows Neha reflecting on her decision to continue working during pregnancy and her belief that motherhood should not limit a woman’s professional ambitions.

“I worked till the end,” says Neha

Speaking candidly, Neha said she chose to stay active professionally and did not step away from work during her pregnancy.

“I wanted to go back to work. I worked right till the end, till eight and a half months pregnant,” she said, adding a striking detail about her experience on set: “My contractions actually started at Yash Raj Studios.”

Her comments highlight both the physical challenges and determination she experienced while balancing work and pregnancy.

“The needle shouldn’t change too much”

During the discussion, Neha also spoke about the broader societal expectations placed on women after motherhood. She emphasized the importance of allowing women to continue pursuing their goals without excessive pressure to change their identity or ambitions.

“As a woman, you should be able to do all the things you wish to do after becoming a mom. The needle shouldn’t change too much,” she said.

Conversation on motherhood and work-life balance

The episode of Mom Talks, a platform that focuses on parenting and real-life experiences of mothers, also explored how women navigate careers alongside raising children. Neha’s remarks added to the ongoing conversation around work-life balance and the need for more supportive environments for working mothers in the entertainment industry and beyond.

Her candid recollection of continuing work even during advanced pregnancy stages has resonated with many, shedding light on both the resilience and challenges faced by working mothers in demanding professions.
