Chennai Super Kings Suffer Major Blow as Ayush Mhatre Ruled Out of IPL 2026 With Injury
The Chennai Super Kings’ IPL 2026 campaign has taken a significant hit after their top-performing batter, Ayush Mhatre, was ruled out for the remainder of the season due to injury. The 18-year-old opener, who had been one of the standout players this year, sustained a left hamstring injury during CSK’s clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 18.

In an official statement, CSK confirmed that Mhatre will require a rehabilitation period of 6 to 12 weeks, effectively ending his participation in the ongoing tournament.
“Ayush Mhatre has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2026 due to a left hamstring injury… We wish Ayush a speedy recovery,” the franchise said.
The injury comes at a crucial stage of the tournament, leaving a noticeable gap at the top of CSK’s batting order.
