“Everyone Loves Him”: Riyan Parag Hails Vaibhav Sooryavanshi After RR’s Win Over RCB

Riyan Parag has showered praise on teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, calling him a fun-loving and widely liked presence in the Rajasthan Royals camp after their dominant six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2026.

The 15-year-old once again stole the spotlight with a breathtaking 78 off just 26 balls, powering Rajasthan Royals’ successful chase of 202. He shared a match-defining 108-run partnership with Dhruv Jurel, who remained unbeaten on 81, as RR comfortably chased down the target in just 18 overs.

Parag on Sooryavanshi’s Personality

Speaking after the match, Parag highlighted the youngster’s cheerful nature and how well he has settled into the team environment.

“I think everyone loves him. Everyone loves having him around. He likes eating stuff. He likes going out and stuff like that. So we make sure we make that available for him,” Parag said.

He added that despite his age, Sooryavanshi remains relaxed and enjoys his time with the team while continuing to deliver exceptional performances on the field.

“He’s a 15-year-old kid, 16-year-old, whatever it is. Doing kiddish things, and he’s happy with that. He likes a lot of batting. So we make sure that is presented to him. And if he keeps on batting like that, whatever he wants,” he added.

RR Reflect on Improved Performance

Parag also reflected on Rajasthan Royals’ overall performance, stating that the team was far more disciplined compared to previous seasons at the venue. He praised the bowling unit for applying pressure early but admitted that RCB’s total of 201 was slightly above par.

He noted that small errors, including giving batters too much room, allowed RCB to recover after early setbacks.

“We should have restricted them to around 170. This is a wicket where not many sixes are hit down the ground off spinners, but we gave room and played into the batters’ hands,” Parag explained.

RR Show Tactical Improvement

The RR skipper also emphasized the team’s preparation for different conditions in Guwahati and Jaipur, stating that adaptability has been a key focus ahead of the season.

“We were well prepared for any home game. Our aim is to assess and adapt well,” he said, adding that the team expects even better performances on batting-friendly pitches.

Sooryavanshi-Jurel Show Powers RR Win

In response, Rajasthan Royals produced a clinical chase led by Sooryavanshi’s explosive start and Jurel’s composed knock. Their partnership effectively took the game away from RCB early in the innings.

Ravindra Jadeja also contributed an unbeaten 24 as RR sealed victory with ease.

Earlier, Rajat Patidar had guided RCB to 201/8 with a solid 63, supported by a late surge from Venkatesh Iyer. Despite that effort, RR’s dominant batting display ensured RCB suffered their first defeat of the season.
