Ashwin Dubs It “Vaiball”

Impressed by the youngster’s fearless knock, Ashwin coined a new term—“Vaiball”—to describe Sooryavanshi’s extraordinary batting style.

“This is insane! This is Vaiball Suryanvanshi. Let’s vibe with this fella,” Ashwin wrote on X (formerly Twitter), a post that quickly went viral among cricket fans.

The young batter also received praise from former India captain Virat Kohli, who shared a special post-match moment with him. Kohli signed Sooryavanshi’s cap and wrote, “Dear Vaibhav, well done,” in a gesture that further highlighted the youngster’s rising stature in Indian cricket.

Sooryavanshi’s knock featured eight fours and seven sixes, as he tore into the RCB bowling attack and set the tone early in the chase. He also formed a crucial 108-run partnership with Dhruv Jurel, who played a composed unbeaten knock of 81 to guide the team home comfortably.

Although Rajasthan briefly stumbled from 129/1 to 134/4, the foundation laid by Sooryavanshi ensured there was no real threat to the chase as RR cruised to victory.

Praise From Across the Cricketing Fraternity

Former all-rounder Irfan Pathan also reacted to the youngster’s fearless approach, questioning whether Sooryavanshi deliberately targets big-name bowlers, reflecting the growing buzz around his performances.

RR captain Riyan Parag praised the teenager’s personality off the field as well, calling him a well-liked presence in the dressing room and highlighting the team’s effort to ensure he remains relaxed while continuing to perform.

With back-to-back explosive performances, Sooryavanshi has now amassed 200 runs in just four matches and even climbed to the top of the Orange Cap race. His fearless batting and rapid rise have made him one of the most talked-about young talents in the IPL 2026 season.
