20 Days, 48-Degree Heat, 1 Bucket of Blood: The Gruelling Climax Shoot of Dhurandhar 2

Even two weeks after its release, Dhurandhar: The Revenge 2 continues to dominate box offices, inching toward the ₹1,000 crore milestone domestically. As per trade tracker Sacnilk, the film’s domestic gross stands at ₹1,122.17 crore, while worldwide collections have crossed ₹1,492.17 crore. Fans are mesmerized by the high-octane action and larger-than-life storytelling, but behind the screen, the effort required to deliver the climactic spectacle was nothing short of heroic.

NDTV spoke with makeup and prosthetic artist Karandeep Singh from Da Makeup Lab, who revealed the extreme conditions under which the massive climax of Dhurandhar 2 was shot.

Extreme Heat and Brutal Conditions

The shoot took place on the outskirts of Ludhiana, where temperatures soared to a sweltering 47–48°C. “There wasn’t a single tree or shade anywhere,” Karandeep recalled. The location—a sprawling industrial setup—added to the challenge, surrounded by burning metal containers, stationary vehicles, and goods trains. “Heat was reflecting from every metal surface around us. On one side there were vehicles, on the other side containers and goods trains. We were shooting right in the middle of all this.”

Amid this oppressive heat, Ranveer Singh performed physically demanding stunts, dressed in a heavy Pathani suit layered with a leather jacket and an overcoat. The actor jumped across containers that were literally burning in the heat, executing complex fight sequences with precision.

A Bucket of Blood and a Woollen Wig

The climax sequence also required an enormous amount of fake blood. “The amount of blood we used on Ranveer every day was unbelievable. We finished a full bucket of blood in a week,” Karandeep said. The sticky texture of the blood became increasingly uncomfortable as it dried on the skin.

Adding to the challenge, Ranveer also wore a wig during the sequence, which Karandeep compared to wearing a woollen cap in extreme summer heat. Despite the physical strain and scorching conditions, the actor remained patient and committed, impressing the crew with his dedication.

Behind the Scenes of a Record-Breaking Film

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge 2 released in December 2025 and quickly became the year’s highest-grossing film in a single language. The sequel surpassed the lifetime collections of the first installment within just 11 days. Alongside Ranveer Singh, the film features Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt, creating one of the most talked-about action franchises in recent times.

From the blistering heat to the physically punishing stunts and mountains of fake blood, the making of Dhurandhar 2’s climax is a testament to the dedication of Ranveer Singh and the entire crew. The result is an adrenaline-pumping spectacle that has audiences on the edge of their seats, earning both critical acclaim and record-breaking box office returns.
