Dhurandhar: The Revenge Filmed at Sanawar School – Where Sanjay Dutt Once Studied
Dhurandhar: The Revenge, led by Ranveer Singh, is making waves at the box office, crossing the ₹1,000 crore mark worldwide within just a week. While audiences are praising its high-octane action and stellar performances, one filming location has also captured attention – the historic The Lawrence School, Sanawar.
Founded in 1847, The Lawrence School, Sanawar, is believed to be Asia’s oldest co-educational boarding school. Nestled in the hills of Himachal Pradesh, the campus is known for its classic architecture, sprawling greenery, and serene surroundings. Its picturesque setting added a unique visual charm to the movie, enhancing the storytelling experience.
This is not the first time the Dhurandhar franchise has chosen Sanawar as a location. The original Dhurandhar (2025) also shot key scenes on the campus, and with the sequel, the connection between the film and the school has deepened.
Speaking to The Times of India, headmaster Himmat Singh Dhillon described the shoot as a memorable experience for students. Ranveer Singh spent time interacting with them, leaving a lasting impression on campus. Actress Yami Gautam and director Aditya Dhar also enjoyed the tranquil environment during the filming. Dhillon said, “The distinctive setting of our school makes it a sought-after destination for the film industry.”
The connection becomes even more personal as Sanjay Dutt, who plays Chaudhary SP Aslam in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is an alumnus of Sanawar. This adds a special layer of nostalgia and pride to the school’s link with the film.
