Arjun Rampal Recalls 26/11 Horror, Says ‘Dhurandhar 2’ Became His Way of Seeking Justice
Actor Arjun Rampal, currently basking in the success of Dhurandhar 2, recently opened up about a deeply personal and emotional experience that shaped his connection to the film. Speaking at the Hello! Hall of Fame Awards in Mumbai, Rampal revealed how witnessing the horrors of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks left a lasting impact on him one that he carried into his performance.
A Night That Changed Everything
Recalling the night of November 26, 2008, Rampal shared that he was at the Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai celebrating his birthday when the attacks began. What started as a normal evening quickly turned into a moment of shock and fear.
“On November 26, 2008, I was in this hotel… we were at the bar, we ordered a drink and the first bomb went off near Mahim. I heard that sound and my glass shook. We were like, ‘What the hell was that?’” he recalled.
As the situation escalated, the atmosphere shifted dramatically from celebration to chaos, leaving a deep emotional imprint on the actor.
Channeling Pain Into Performance
Years later, when director Aditya Dhar narrated a 26/11-related sequence in Dhurandhar 2, Rampal instantly connected with it on a personal level. The memory of that traumatic night resurfaced, giving him a powerful emotional anchor for his role.
“When Aditya Dhar narrated to me the 26/11 scene, I knew I was going to have my revenge,” Rampal said, describing how he used those emotions to fuel his performance.
For the actor, the film became more than just a project—it turned into a way of expressing unresolved feelings and honoring the gravity of what he had witnessed.
A Personal Tribute
Rampal concluded his reflection with a strong sense of patriotism and purpose, saying, “All I want to say is ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai.’” His words underscored not just his personal journey, but also the emotional weight that real-life events can carry into cinema.
With Dhurandhar 2 continuing its successful run, Rampal’s revelation adds another layer of depth to the film showing how, for some actors, performances are not just crafted, but lived and felt through deeply personal experiences.
