Hansika Motwani Shares First Post After Divorce From Sohael Khaturiya, Pens Message of Positivity

Actor Hansika Motwani has shared a message of strength and optimism on social media shortly after her divorce from businessman Sohael Khaturiya. The couple were officially granted a divorce on March 11, bringing an end to their three-year marriage. According to reports, the separation was filed by mutual consent.

Soon after the divorce was finalised, Hansika took to Instagram Stories on Thursday and posted a short but meaningful note that read, “Chardi Kala always.” The Punjabi phrase is often used to describe a mindset of eternal optimism, resilience and high spirits, even during difficult phases of life.

While the actor did not directly mention the divorce in her message, many fans interpreted the post as a reflection of her positive outlook following the end of her marriage. So far, neither Hansika nor Sohael has publicly addressed the separation.

Marriage and separation

Hansika and Sohael tied the knot on December 4, 2022, in a lavish wedding ceremony at Mundota Fort in Jaipur. Their grand celebration drew widespread attention online, with photos and videos from the festivities widely shared across social media.

Before the wedding, Sohael had proposed to Hansika at the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris in November 2022. The actor had shared pictures from the romantic proposal on Instagram, captioning them “Now and forever,” making their relationship public.

However, rumours about trouble in their marriage began circulating in 2025 when Hansika quietly deleted several wedding pictures and photos featuring Sohael from her social media accounts. Reports later suggested that the couple had been living separately since July 2024.

According to Hansika’s lawyer, Adnan Shaikh, the divorce was filed by mutual consent. Speaking to NDTV, he clarified that the actor chose not to seek any alimony or maintenance as part of the settlement.

“It is pertinent to clarify that our client has made no claims whatsoever for alimony or maintenance, as her sole intention was to bring a dignified and peaceful closure to the marriage. Our client now wishes to move forward with her life and professional commitments,” he said.

Court documents reportedly stated that the couple lived together only for a brief period before realising that they had significant differences in temperament, opinions and lifestyle. These issues eventually led to disagreements and their decision to separate. The plea also noted that family members and friends had made several attempts to reconcile the couple, but those efforts were ultimately unsuccessful.

Hansika’s recent work

On the professional front, Hansika was last seen in the 2024 film Guardian, directed by Sabari and Guru Saravanan. The film also featured Suresh Chandra Menon and Sriman in key roles and received mixed reviews after its release.

As she moves forward both personally and professionally, Hansika’s recent message of positivity suggests that the actor is choosing to focus on resilience and new beginnings.
