Sunny Deol is back with an intense role in his upcoming film Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak. The makers have released the teaser, giving audiences a glimpse of the actor as a police officer whose life changes completely after the death of his daughter. What begins as a personal tragedy soon turns into a mission to uncover disturbing truths about alleged malpractice in the country’s medical system.

The teaser presents Sunny in a serious and emotional avatar as a grieving father determined to find out what really happened to his daughter. The film is said to be inspired by real events and raises questions about medical negligence, expensive hospital bills and the trust patients place in doctors.

Sunny Deol questions the medical system

In the teaser, Sunny’s character appears to lead a happy family life until his daughter’s death turns everything upside down. Unable to accept what has happened, he begins investigating the circumstances surrounding her death and comes across troubling details.

One of the most striking moments features Sunny questioning the trust people place in doctors. He says, “A person believes doctors are god and entrusts his life to them. But if that doctor breaks their trust, then what will the person do?”

His character also raises concerns about the high medical bills patients face, even for relatively minor health issues. He questions the practice of recommending numerous tests and alleges that some medical decisions may be driven by commissions rather than patients’ needs.

“Doctors don’t write prescriptions there, they write their commissions. And people are tolerating it but till when?” he asks in the teaser.

The dialogues set the tone for a thriller that explores the anger and helplessness people can experience when they believe the medical system has failed them. Through Sunny’s character, the film appears to focus on one man’s determination to seek answers and hold those responsible accountable.

Ravi Kishan and Soumya Tandon also feature

The teaser also offers brief glimpses of Ravi Kishan and Soumya Tandon, who are part of the film’s cast. Sunny is joined by actors including Pragya Jaiswal, Tinu Anand, Manish Wadhwa, Jisshu Sengupta, Tanushree Chakraborty, Virti Vaghani, Siddarth Sharma, Rohit Tiwari, Anoop Trivedi and Khalid Siddiqui. The late Pankaj Dheer and Beena Kak are also part of the film.

Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Sunny encouraged viewers to watch the film, think about its message, remain alert and speak up when something is wrong. He wrote, “They thought it was his end. For Suryaa, it was only the beginning.”

The actor also announced that Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak will arrive in cinemas on November 20, 2026.

M Padmakumar makes his Hindi directorial debut

Suryaa is backed by producer Kamal Mukut and directed by M Padmakumar, marking the filmmaker’s Hindi directorial debut. Padmakumar previously directed the 2018 Malayalam film Joseph, which starred Joju George as a retired police officer drawn into a murder investigation that forces him to confront difficult truths about his past.

Suryaa is said to be a Hindi remake of Joseph, with Sunny Deol taking on the central role. The story has been adapted around a police officer whose personal loss leads him into a larger investigation.

Speaking about the project, producer Kamal Mukut said that he had signed Sunny for two films, Gadar 2 and Suryaa. After the success of Gadar 2, he said he was motivated to develop Suryaa, describing it as a story about an ordinary man that could connect with audiences.

Mukut also revealed that Sunny would be seen in a different avatar, with the thriller unfolding across three phases of the character’s life. According to the producer, the story moves between two different eras, adding another layer to the narrative.

With its emotional premise, hard-hitting dialogues and focus on the medical system, Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak promises to show Sunny Deol in a role driven by grief, anger and the search for justice. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on November 20, 2026.
