Much has been said about the alleged rivalry between the upcoming Kannada pan-India film Toxic and the Hindi action sequel Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge. Both films were initially scheduled to release on *March 19, sparking speculation about a potential box office clash. However, the makers of *Toxic later decided to postpone the film’s release to June.
While the team cited the ongoing conflict in the Middle East as the reason behind the delay, some reports suggested that the decision may have been influenced by concerns that Dhurandhar 2 could affect Toxic’s box office performance.
Yash Not Concerned About Competition
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Yash the lead actor and co-producer of Toxic — is not worried about competition from the sequel at all. In fact, the actor reportedly enjoyed the first installment of the franchise and is eager to watch the second part.

A source quoted in the report stated that the rumours of rivalry are largely exaggerated.
“Yash loved Dhurandhar and is looking forward to Part 2. All the rivalry, anxiety and competitiveness is created by outsiders desirous of juicing the so-called competition between the two films.”
Reason Behind Toxic’s Postponement
The report further clarified that the delay in Toxic’s release had *nothing to do with box office competition. Instead, the decision was linked to the *escalating war situation in the Gulf and UAE, which could potentially impact the film’s overseas business.
According to the source, Dhurandhar 2 may not face the same concern because the first part had already been banned in several Muslim-majority countries, which could limit its distribution in those regions again.
Anticipation Builds for Both Films
Despite the rumours of rivalry, both films continue to generate strong buzz among audiences. With Toxic marking another major project for Yash and Dhurandhar 2 building on the success of its predecessor, fans are eagerly waiting to see how both movies perform once they hit theatres
