Actor Sunny Deol will soon be seen in the upcoming film Lahore 1947 alongside Preity Zinta. The film is being produced by Aamir Khan and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Recently, reports surfaced suggesting that the film’s title might be changed, sparking speculation among fans and the film industry.

According to the rumours, the makers were considering renaming the film “Batwara 1947.” However, Aamir Khan has now clarified that there are no plans to change the title.

Aamir Khan Responds to the Rumours

Speculation about a possible title change began after industry chatter suggested that an Indian film named after a city in Pakistan might face hesitation among audiences in the current climate.

But Aamir Khan dismissed these claims while speaking about the project. Reacting to the rumours, he reportedly laughed and said:

“Where did you hear that? No, the title of our film has not changed. As of now, it is Lahore 1947, and that’s how I would like it to be.”

The Real Issue Behind the Title

While the title remains unchanged for now, reports indicate that there is a technical issue regarding the title rights.

Filmmaker Suneel Darshan currently holds the rights to the title Lahore, and discussions are reportedly underway to resolve the matter. The issue is expected to be sorted out soon.

Rajkumar Santoshi on the Film’s Dream Team

Director Rajkumar Santoshi also spoke about the film and expressed excitement about collaborating again with Aamir Khan and Sunny Deol.

Santoshi and Aamir previously worked together on the iconic film Andaz Apna Apna, while the director has delivered several memorable films with Sunny Deol, including Ghayal, Damini, and Ghatak.

Speaking about the collaboration, Santoshi said the film brings together an exceptional creative team.

The music for the film will be composed by legendary composer A. R. Rahman, while celebrated lyricist Javed Akhtar will write the songs.

According to Santoshi, having such talented artists come together for one project makes it a rare and exciting collaboration.

Expected Independence Day Release

Lahore 1947 is currently expected to release in theatres around Independence Day, making it one of the most anticipated films on the upcoming Bollywood calendar.
