Actor and model Sorab Bedi recently found himself in the spotlight after a video of him partying with Malaika Arora went viral on social media. The clip showed the two dancing together and sharing a friendly hug, which quickly led to speculation online about a possible romantic relationship.
However, Sorab has now addressed the rumours and clarified that there is no romantic angle between them. Speaking in an interview with Zoom TV and Telly Talk India, the actor expressed disappointment over the assumptions being made and explained that he and Malaika are simply friends.
Sorab revealed that he first met Malaika during his modelling days through his mentors Delnaz Daruwala and Vahbiz Mehta. He shared that they often attended the same parties and eventually became part of the same social circle.
“Delnaz Daruwala and Vahbiz Mehta gave me a chance to walk the ramp during my modelling days. I became friends with them and started going out for parties. At one of the parties, I met Malaika through my mentors. She is also a close friend of Delnaz and Vahbiz. Hence, Malaika and I became friends. There is nothing between us,” Sorab said.
He also urged people to be more mindful before making assumptions about someone’s personal life, especially when it involves a woman. According to Sorab, such rumours can affect a person’s mental well-being.
“People are talking several things about us. They should think twice before speaking about a girl. It could affect her mental state. Aisa karna nahin chahiye,” he added.
Sorab further explained that the viral video was not unusual, as they have been part of the same friend circle for years. He mentioned that he had shared pictures with Malaika earlier as well, but they did not attract attention at the time.
“I didn’t party with them for the first time. I have been partying with Vahbiz, Delnaz and Malaika for many years. Earlier, I used to share pictures with Malaika, but at that time I was not a known face. Now I am a known face, so people are noticing it,” he said.
Despite the online buzz, Sorab’s clarification makes it clear that the viral moment was simply a friendly interaction between long-time acquaintances rather than anything more.
