Sara Arjun Reprises Role in Dhurandhar 2; Father Raj Arjun Recalls Struggles and Calls Her a ‘Dhurandhar’
Actress Sara Arjun has returned to the big screen with her role as Yalina in the highly anticipated sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which hit theaters today, March 19. Following the massive success of the first Dhurandhar, Sara has once again made a strong impression with her performance, earning praise from fans and critics alike.
Amid the celebrations, her father, actor Raj Arjun, opened up about his daughter’s journey and the pivotal role she has played in his own life and career. Speaking at Kommune India’s SpokenFest, Raj described Sara’s birth in 2005 as a transformative moment. “In 2005, a soul came into my life. I had heard that daughters are a blessing, and I got to live that blessing too,” he said.
Raj Arjun recalled the years following Sara’s birth as a period of struggle and uncertainty in his acting career. Despite setbacks, including a first lead role that never materialized, he credited Sara for being his emotional anchor. “She took care of me like a Dhurandhar,” he said, highlighting how their bond went beyond traditional father-daughter roles.
He also recounted a life-changing moment in 2016, when Sara accompanied him to casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s office. “She held Mukesh’s hand and dragged him outside. She turned her destiny towards me, and I bagged a role in Secret Superstar,” he shared. The film, backed by Aamir Khan, became a turning point in his career.
Reflecting on Sara’s success today, Raj expressed immense pride. “When that daughter is spreading her light in the world, being a Dhurandhar, she shares that spotlight with me too,” he said. He summed up his emotions poignantly: “People say daughters hold their father’s hand and move forward, but I reached my destination holding my daughter’s hand. This brightness of my life is called Sara.”
In Dhurandhar 2, Sara reprises her role as Yalina alongside stars R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt, making the film one of the most talked-about releases of the year.
Sara’s performance and her father’s heartfelt reflections underscore not only her growing impact in the industry but also the deep family bond that has shaped both their lives.
