Saif Ali Khan Opens Up About Work-Life Balance After Son Taimur Asks How Long He Plans to Keep Working
Work-life balance in the film industry has long been a topic of discussion, and actor Saif Ali Khan recently shared his perspective during a conversation with his sister Soha Ali Khan on her podcast.
While reflecting on his career and future in the industry, Saif revealed that his son Taimur Ali Khan recently asked him an interesting question about how long he plans to continue working. Recalling the moment, Saif said, “‘How much long are you planning to do this for?’ Which is something Tim also asked me recently. I said I don’t know, as long as I can! Forever, it is my job! But they are like, ‘No!’”
The candid moment highlighted the curiosity of his son as well as Saif’s enduring passion for acting.
Speaking further about balancing professional commitments with family life, Saif explained that the work culture in the film industry has gradually evolved, making it easier for actors to manage both.
“It has evolved in a way… But it is possible, and it helps if one is successful,” Saif shared. He also pointed out that several actors in the industry have managed to strike a healthy balance between work and personal life.
According to Saif, maintaining a structured work schedule plays a key role. He explained that some of his colleagues begin their day early, often starting work around 7 am, with cameras rolling by 9 am. This disciplined routine allows them to complete a significant amount of work during the day and still return home in time to spend the evening with their children before bedtime.
Saif added that the balance also comes from the nature of film projects. Actors often work intensely for a month or two during shoots and then take some time off afterward, allowing them to recharge and spend quality time with family.
Through his candid reflections, Saif highlighted that while the film industry can be demanding, maintaining a balance between professional commitments and family life is possible with the right structure and priorities.
