Actor Rani Mukerji has reportedly stepped away from the upcoming film *Oh My Goddess, which also stars *Akshay Kumar in a leading role. The development comes amid reported creative differences between the actress and the film’s director Amit Rai during the pre-production stage.
Creative differences lead to exit
According to industry reports, Rani Mukerji was initially associated with the project but eventually decided to walk away after disagreements over the film’s creative direction. While earlier reports had suggested that the actress had not formally signed the film and was only involved in early discussions, a new report claims she had been attached to the project before leaving it.
As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, sources revealed that Mukerji had a particular vision for the script and expected certain creative choices to align with her experience in the industry. However, director Amit Rai reportedly had a strong and different perspective regarding the film’s narrative and treatment.
Since the two were unable to find common ground on the creative approach, the actress chose to exit the project.

Following her exit, the makers have reportedly begun searching for another actress to take on the female lead role opposite Akshay Kumar.
